CBI Project Overview

Created:   | Updated: 08/05/2013
The Centricity Business Implementation (CBI) Project at UPI is an ongoing project that will require everyone's participation in one way or another.  Read on to learn about the project in general, or use the links on the left to find more project details.

University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) has been using GE Centricity Business software (formerly called IDX) for more than 30 years as the core of our revenue cycle system. The CBI Project will refresh and enhance the current Centricity Business software system with GE's latest technology, plus new applications and tools. It will also align UPI’s instance with best practices.

We’ve engaged three GE Centricity Business employees to serve as full-time UPI Project team members. We’ve also contracted a Testing Coordinator and we’re working with 12-15 additional GE Implementation and Educational Services employees. Consultants from KAV Consulting are assisting with the Enterprise Task Management (ETM) workflow design and build. Now that the project’s scope and design phases are complete, staff from Patient Accounts, Fee Coordination, and Information Services are focused on building the system and evaluating workflows.

Your Piece

You may have already attended a town hall meeting, or you may have one scheduled for the future. Be sure to attend to find out more about the project and ask any questions you have. There are over 20 work-groups and many employees will be pulled in and asked to give input. Everyone will be important in this project, whether it’s learning the new system or helping our customers (doctors and administrative staff) with the changes.

More to Come

Look for more emails with CBI project updates. In the meantime you can always check these CBI Project web pages. If you have specific questions, please ask your manager.
