Audit, Compliance & Education Online Learning Courses
The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) has approved many of our online learning courses for continuing education units (CEU’s). The only modules that are not approved for CEU credit are those modules that are deemed mandatory for your employment at CU Medicine (i.e. ICD-9 Coding, Compliance, etc.).

Anatomy & Physiology Learning Courses
CU Medicine has developed in-depth A&P modules to assist our staff in the implementation of ICD-10-CM. These courses are designed to help coders familiarize themselves with common disorders that pertain to the organ systems. Discussing key documentation requirements will not only improve coding in the current ICD-9-CM system but prepare coders for ICD-10-CM implementation in October 2014.
ICD-9 and CPT Coding Learning Courses
ICD-9 and CPT Learning Courses are arranged by specialty. These courses will review common diagnosis and procedure codes that pertain to UPI’s line of business. These learning courses include scenarios and documentation examples along with rationale and answers.
Employment Mandatory Learning Courses
Certain learning courses are used as part of the New Hire Training process. New employees will be asked to go through these courses as part of their orientation process.
We also have courses that are deemed mandatory each year by management staff. The American Academy of Procedural Coders states, “Any course that is deemed mandatory or is used for mandatory training is not eligible for CEU credit.”
The mandatory courses are:

• New Hire Courses: Intro to ICD-10, Intro to CPT, Annual Compliance, E/M, specialty courses (determined by the manager for the work area)
